Read the following passages and choose the best answer (a, b, or c) to each question.

A certain species of spider makes six different kinds of silk and uses these to make its web. When hit by a fast-flying moth it can stretch by 40 per cent and then return to its original size unaffected. The US army is researching spiders because their web is stronger, and has better energy-absorbing elasticity, than Kevlar, a fibre so tough that it can stop bullets. A hummingbird can fly forwards, backwards, up, down or sideways, with equal ease. It can fly across the Gulf of Mexico on three grams of fuel and, when picking up its fuel, fertilise the flower to provide more fuel in future. Obviously, humans still have a lot to learn from nature, and one of the key questions for scientists today is whether or not they can mimic nature when creating the products of the future.
